Better Living for Texans (BLT) is a nutrition education program for adults and children who are SNAP participants and SNAP-eligible. The BLT program helps people make healthy meals, improve physical fitness, save money at the grocery store, grow their foods, and adopt better food safety habits. Fall Corn Decor Threatens Texas Farms
In October 2024, tar spot fungus was confirmed on leaves of dried corn plants sold as decorations at large retailers across Texas and other states across the South. This tar spot has become a significant disease problem in corn grown in the Midwestern states, causing significant yield loss. To date, it has yet to be confirmed in corn grown in Texas—let’s keep it out of Texas by disposing of infected materials immediately!
